Well Schools Groups

Well Schools Groups are designed for organisations supporting multiple schools – such as multi-academy trusts, local authorities and school sport partnerships.

The Well Check and Well Schools Accreditation are available to all UK schools with pupils aged 4–18, and creating a group allows you to manage and support your schools in one place.

Benefits of creating a group include:

  • View all your schools’ progress in real time

  • Access a group-level action plan to support strategic improvement

  • Understand the needs of your schools across the group in one place

  • Benefit from group-level payment options for Accreditation

  • Access Youth Sport Trust and partner support at group level.

Multi-Academy Trusts

What is a Well School Trust?

A Well School Trust is a multi-academy trust (MAT) that places health and wellbeing at the heart of its strategic vision and school improvement priorities. By recognising the contribution wellbeing makes to attendance, engagement and attainment, Well School Trusts use PE, sport, play and physical activity as drivers for positive change across their school communities.

Through a whole-trust approach, schools are supported to embed wellbeing into culture, practice and leadership – creating environments where pupils and staff can thrive.

Support available for Multi-Academy Trusts

Multi-academy trusts can access a range of support to help develop and embed a Well School approach across their schools, including:

  • Introduction to Well Schools sessions for trust and school leaders
  • Group insight and analysis of collective Well Schools data
  • Strategic action planning aligned to trust priorities and improvement objectives
  • The Well School Trust Development Programme for trust leaders
  • Trust-wide support, training and resources for PE, sport and physical activity
  • Well School Trust Accreditation and trust-level recognition.
