What began as a shared ambition has grown into a national movement – bringing together educators who recognise that wellbeing is not an ‘add-on’, but the foundation of sustained success in schools.
In 2025, the programme evolved with the introduction of the Well Check and Well Schools Accreditation – creating a clearer, more structured pathway for schools at every stage of their journey.
The Well Check provides a free, accessible starting point for schools to reflect on their current practice and identify priorities, while Accreditation offers a recognised standard of excellence, supporting schools to embed long-term, whole-school approaches to wellbeing.
Today, Well Schools continues to grow, with schools and trusts across the UK taking positive, practical action to create environments where both staff and pupils can thrive. Through shared learning, evidence-informed approaches, and a strong sense of collaboration, schools are building cultures that support not only wellbeing, but improved engagement, attainment, and long-term outcomes.
Well Schools would not be possible without the ongoing support of our partners, supporters, and the schools themselves – whose commitment, insight, and collaboration continue to shape and strengthen the programme. Together, we are creating a future where wellbeing and achievement go hand in hand.
