At just 21 years old, Charlie Rose has already pushed the boundaries of human endurance and all to change the lives of young people across the UK. Training out of Functional Fitness Farnham, Charlie set out to test the absolute limits of his strength and resilience. What followed was a history-making display of grit, purpose, and generosity. In one extraordinary challenge, Charlie broke three world records for the most muscle-ups completed in 8, 12, and 24 hours:
Charlie’s world-record effort raised more than £3,000, which will help to ensure that children across the country can access the life-changing benefits of sport - regardless of their background, ability, or family circumstances. By choosing the Youth Sport Trust, Charlie has made a lasting difference for children who might otherwise miss out on the opportunities that shaped his own childhood.
Charlie’s inspiration came from a deeply personal place:
“I was incredibly fortunate as a child that my parents were in a position to expose me to numerous sports, and I’m forever grateful for their support in pursuing my passion for gymnastics.”
That gratitude fuelled his mission:
“Knowing the immense impact sport brought to my life, it doesn’t sit right with me knowing those opportunities don’t exist for all children. I wanted to make even just a small contribution to help children access sport and benefit from exercise the same way I did.”
Charlie’s achievement is more than a physical triumph - it’s a gift of opportunity, hope, and possibility for young people across the UK. His world-record effort stands as a powerful example of what can happen when athletic ambition meets a cause that truly matters.
