Developing young people’s life skills

Set for Success is an intensive youth leadership initiative funded by the Wimbledon Foundation in partnership with Barclays and delivered by the Youth Sport Trust (YST). It seeks to support young people at risk of not achieving their full potential.

Set for Success has delivered a range of benefits for the young people taking part, including:

  • Improved attitudes to, and progress at, school
  • Improved life skills, particularly teamwork and communication
  • A positive impact on their attitudes to the future
  • Increased participation in sport and physical activity
  • Improved wellbeing

On the right-hand side, you can access and download the evaluation report and infographic summary to read more about the work that has been achieved through the programme.

You can also access an infographic which summarises the social value of the outcomes generated by Set for Success for young people. The analysis focuses on Year 1 delivery that occurred during the 2023/24 academic year, and was guided by social return on investment principles. The work was undertaken by Sheffield Hallam University's Sport Industry Research Centre.
