National School Sports Week 2025

For this year’s campaign we are calling on schools, families and organisations to get involved in the UK’s biggest ever Sports Day, and champion 60 minutes of PE, sport and play every day to help young people be ‘Always Active’. Sign up now to access free resources, exclusive activity packs and challenges, and be in with a chance to win exciting prizes.
Young Ambassador National Panel

We are now seeking applications from Young Ambassadors aged 15+ to join our National Panel for 2025/26! This role will enable Young Ambassadors to promote youth voice and choice, lead and attend local, regional and national conferences and events, as well as access some amazing learning opportunities and experiences to support their personal development.
The timeline and process to apply is as follows:
- June - online application window opens on Sunday 1 June and closes on Monday 30 June
- July - selected Young Ambassadors to be invited to attend informal interviews online
- August - one Young Ambassador will be elected from each local authority in Wales
- September - all 22 members will be invited to attend a first induction meeting online

Young Ambassador Spotlight

Congratulations to Lottie Powell, who was recently awarded the Young Ambassador Recognition Award for her incredible work at Birchgrove Comprehensive! Lottie has used her role to inspire, influence, lead and mentor other young people to be healthier and more active both at local level in Swansea, as well as at national level as a member of our Wales panel.
24 Hour Basketball Challenge

Congratulations to Ethan Benningwood (pictured left) who recently organised a 24-hour basketball challenge at his club (Cardiff Met Archers) to raise funds for Youth Sport Trust! Ethan has been a Young Ambassador for several years, progressing through our pathway to eventually being selected to join on our national panel in 2023/24, so we are extremely grateful to him for organising this amazing event in aid of our charity.
Free Level 1 Disability Inclusion Training Course

Disability Sport Wales are offering a free e-learning module that introduces inclusive practice in physical activity and sport. This course is self-paced, allowing young ambassadors to complete it at a time and pace that suits them, which takes around 1 hour to complete. To enrol, click here.
Volunteers Week

For this year’s campaign we are calling on Young Ambassadors to get involved by coming together to host an event, share their stories on socials, and/or support the ‘Power of Youth Day’ to celebrate all the amazing work they do in sport as volunteers. Olympic Day

Team GB Foundation and The Daily Mile are running a nationwide celebration of movement, motivation and fun by asking schools to host an ‘Olympic Day’ on Monday 23rd June.
