PE & School Sport – Parent Survey

To coincide with the launch of our PE and School Sport Annual report, we commissioned YouGov Plc to conduct research into the current attitudes and views of GB parents on the importance of sport and play. This report shares some of the key findings from this research.

We found that:

  • There is still work to be done to raise awareness of the term “physical literacy” and of recommended activity levels
  • Parents value the benefits that come from PE and sport and are supportive of their children being active
  • They are supportive of school sport and PE and many are keen to take action to drive change
  • Positive experiences of PE can carry across generations, with those having positive experiences more likely to encourage their children to be active and play sport
