Most MPs spend Fridays in their local constituency. If you’re delivering an event or activity on Friday 10 July during National School Sports Week, why not invite your local MP to attend?
Here’s what you need to do:
1. Plan your activity
If you already have plans in place, you’re all set. If not, and you’re looking for inspiration, why not register to take part in this year's National School Sports Week and access resources.
As part of your discussions, consider:

What will you be asking MPs to see and who they’ll be able to speak with

What information they’ll need, such as addresses, parking, attendees

How you can bring the power of PE, sport and play to life and demonstrate your impact
2. Contact your MP
If you’re not sure who that is, you can find out by entering your school’s postcode.
You’ll then be able to find an email address you can use to contact your MP directly.
To help, we’ve created the template email below for you to use and tailor as you see fit:
Dear [insert name] MP,
I am [insert role] at [insert school] and I am writing to invite you to join us at an event in your constituency on Friday 10 July in support of National School Sports Week 2026.
National School Sports Week is an annual campaign led by the Youth Sport Trust, a charity dedicated to ensuring all children can access the life-changing benefits of play and sport. National School Sports Week 2026 invites schools, families and communities across the UK to get moving together, inspired by a landmark year of global sport and the everyday moments of encouragement that happen in playgrounds, classrooms and communities.

I would like to invite you to join us at [insert school, details including timings and overview of activity, including anything media/social media plans you have].
