Inclusion 2024 Partnership with Path to Paris

2024 is a Paralympic year and we are excited to announce that we are partnering with Path to Paris and aligning this exciting initiative to our Inclusive Sport Programme which is part of your core offer for this year. As a result, you’ll see co-branding on the resources we are producing, alongside some Paralympic athlete involvement, closer NGB engagement and an opportunity for 20 of our special schools to take part in an enhanced piece of work. More details will follow in due course.

Path to Paris is the official Youth Engagement programme from Team GB and Paralympics GB (Inclusion 2024 consortium partner), with funding from Sport England and Spirit of 2012. It is a virtual challenge which aims to inspire the nation to get active in the run-up to the Paris 2024 Games. Starting from Athens, the birthplace of the modern Olympic Games, participants can virtually travel around the world, powering their team bus every time they get active and log their activity. Children can take part in teams created in schools, community groups or by families. Get involved now so you’re ready to begin your journey to Paris!

FA SEND Shooting Stars Training Dates

We are releasing this year's SEND Shooting Stars training dates. As part of the core offer, Lead Inclusion Schools are required to maintain/set up two SEND Shooting Stars clubs. It is essential that you sign up for one of these dates if you have not been to one before or would like a refresher.

The dates and booking link are as follows:

If you need support registering, please get in touch with Rebecca.

UPDATES

NGB Inclusive Formats

During the Lead Inclusion School networking session, we invited a small number of NGBs who shared some of their inclusive formats. Following on from that, they have provided us with some links to their inclusive formats if you want to try some of them in your county. You can find them in the Microsoft Teams Channel, eg Boccia Inclusive formats. If you have any issues accessing it, please contact Rebecca.

Inclusive Education Hub

We have the downloads of schools that have signed up and completed the Inclusive Education Hub. If you would like the data from your county, please contact Rebecca.

CPD OPPORTUNITIES

UK Coaching Duty to Care Badge

UK Coaching, Sport England and CIMSPA have produced free CPD with an accredited CPD badge. This is available on the hub and includes free resources under six pillars. While this is predominantly designed for coaches, the resources are free and useful for everyone. You can look at the resources for any or all of the six pillars and you don't actually have to get the 'badge' - this is optional should you wish to receive accredited CPD points. If you want to take the tests, each pillar is about 20-30 minutes and you can save progress as you go along.
