Free Resource

Description

The Inclusive Youth Voice Toolkit has been developed and adapted from the Youth Sport Trust ‘Focus on Me’ guidance, and draws upon recent research from ‘Focus on Us’ led by Dr. Niamh Mourton et al.

Funded through the Department for Education’s SEND Inclusion in PE, School Sport and Physical Activity grant, its aim is to support schools in designing and facilitating inclusive focus groups to ensure they can ascertain real authentic views and voices of their young people.

The toolkit profiles a range of ways to engage pupils and support schools in understanding young people’s views from their diverse school communities and includes short video footage as well as helpful tips, considerations and templates.

As part of inclusive youth voice, a toolkit has also been created to support young people in gathering research. The toolkit is aimed at supporting young people aged 13-18 to create their own research and interview tools and develop their skills to deliver this. It will also support the school staff and sports staff to create the resources to collect, analyse and present the impact PE and school sport (including School Games). You can download it here.
