ACTIONS

Partner School Survey

Please find below the link to send out to all the partners you have worked with for inclusion 2024 this academic year.

https://surveys.research-partners.co.uk/index.php/833175

Please send this to all those schools, SGOs, local organisations, etc who you have worked with since September to invite them to tell us what they think of the project, any effects it has had, or any suggestions they have for future changes.

This link will stay live for the rest of this year, so please send it on to contacts after you have advised them/provided training/run an event with them etc. It’s better to leave a little time so that we can see what effects your input has had.

UPDATES

School payments

Apologies for the delay in this term’s payments. Due to an unforeseen circumstance, these payments will now be made in the mid-December payment run and should be with you before Christmas. Rebecca will be in touch to let you know when they have been made.

Young people case studies

Our ambition this year is to showcase more of the amazing young people we work with and those who are impacted by the work you’re all doing locally. A key theme for Inclusion 2024 Live this year is hearing and learning from young people about their experiences in PE and School Sport, so we can continue to create inspiring, accessible, and meaningful opportunities. To celebrate International Day for People with Disabilities on 3 December, we profiled 16-year-old Billy from Derbyshire who is directly benefiting through the work we’re doing as part of Inclusion 2024. Click below for Billy’s case study.

Inclusion 2024 Live – 23-27 January 2023

Inclusion 2024 Live is back again next year from Monday 23 January to Friday 27 January so please save this week in your diaries.

We wanted to provide the network with a sneak peek of the line-up for the week here. If you do have any feedback, please send it through to Roshni.

Please look out in January for some sign up links and social media toolkits landing in your inboxes. We would love for the network to promote the event again as without all of your support last year we would not have been able to make the event as successful.

Looking forward to showcasing the amazing line up of speakers we have for the week.

Save the Date: FA Shooting Stars SEND training - Wednesday 1 February 3.30-5.00pm

Please save the above date for training related to the FA Shooting Stars SEND clubs, which is part of your core inclusion role this year. More details will come out soon including a zoom link for this training. Our very own Niamh Mourton will be working with the FA to ensure the training is fit for purpose for our Lead Inclusion Schools and your wider networks. Hard copy resources are currently being signed off by Disney, so we’re hoping to get these out to you in January.

RESOURCES

ECB, Chance to Shine and Lord’s Taverners deliver adapted cricket

The ECB has a new initiative which will see the ECB, Chance to Shine and Lord’s Taverners take cricket directly to those children who are at the greatest risk of missing out on playing the game at school.

Working with the ECB, Chance to Shine expects to advance its cricket delivery in up to 300 more schools where at least 40% of the student population qualifies for free school meals. At the same time, the ECB will grow its partnership with Lord’s Taverners with the charity expecting to reach at least 200 extra schools running a cricket programme designed to reach more young people in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) settings.

In total, the expanded programmes are expected to benefit more than 55,000 extra children and they represent an additional 26,000 hours of curriculum time for cricket activity aimed at connecting communities and improving lives.

These programmes will be completely free of charge, delivered as part of the school day so that no additional transport or parental support is required, and every session will be provided by a qualified coach, alongside all the necessary equipment.

This is important and targeted work, aimed at those young people with whom these programmes will have maximum impact. If you can support by sharing our social media posts, it would be hugely appreciated.
