On World Children’s Day (20 November), the Youth Sport Trust celebrated the incredible achievements of young changemakers at the Young Changemaker Awards 2024, sponsored by the LEGO® Group. Held at Tobacco Dock, London, the event saw sporting stars, including the charity’s National School Sport Champion Sir Mo Farah CBE, honour young heroes using sport to transform lives through resilience and leadership.

The Youth Sport Trust (YST) has today revealed through its annual Impact report that it helped 630,000 young people benefit from training and opportunities to participate in high, quality inclusive sport and play last year.

A programme which aims to provide young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with the opportunity to develop valuable life and leadership skills is making waves in Prescot, Merseyside.

Awarded to a network leader who has influenced change in their area that has positively impacted on schools and young people through PE, sport and play. 

Over the last 12 months, the Youth Sport Trust has conducted 161 school visits across 20 initial focus areas in order to get a greater understanding of the challenges schools face and the barriers and potential solutions to embedding physical activity within school culture.

The 30 September 2022 celebrates the return of European School Sport Day (ESSD), an annual event funded by the European Union with the aim to promote physical activity in schools.

Conferences such as this are an opportunity for us all to reflect on the successes of last year, overcome challenges as a collective and action plan for the year ahead.

teamArchie is a charitable foundation set up in memory of Archie Lloyd. Archie adored sport, dabbled with music and theatre and he was passionate about history and politics. Tragically he died in 2015, aged 18, whilst travelling with friends.
