Joanna Adams joins the board of the Youth Sport Trust

The Youth Sport Trust is delighted to confirm that Joanna Adams has been appointed to its Board of Trustees.

Joanna recently stepped down as Chief Executive of England Netball after almost 10 years with the governing body, and is now Chief Commercial Officer at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Under her leadership England Netball secured the rights to host the Vitality Netball World Cup 2019 in Liverpool, which was the best attended Netball World Cup to date. She was part of the team in 2018 that was pivotal in the England squad’s historic win at the Commonwealth Games, which inspired thousands of women and girls to take up the sport.

She joins the board of YST just as the charity prepares to mark its 25th year, in 2020. Joanna said:

As a lifelong advocate for the power of sport, I’m excited to be joining the board of a charity which is making such a positive difference to young people’s lives. At England Netball we saw the power of sporting role models to drive change. This is at the heart of the fantastic work the Youth Sport Trust does. I can’t wait to get started.

YST Chair Neil Davidson said:

We’re delighted to have Joanna joining the board and look forward to working together to drive our mission forward, making an even bigger impact on even more young people’s lives. The wealth of expertise and experience Joanna brings from her success working across sport, brands and the media will be a huge asset to the Youth Sport Trust, and comes at a pivotal moment as we prepare to mark the charity’s 25th year.
