YST Conference 2024

Change the score, change their future

The Youth Sport Trust Conference 2024 delved into the heart of education challenges, aiming to reshape the future of our schools and communities.

In a landscape marked by persistent absenteeism and escalating behavioural challenges, our conference stands as a beacon of hope. The attainment gap looms large, particularly affecting those in poverty and underserved communities. Now, more than ever, our networks are in urgent need of innovative solutions.

Inspirational keynote speakers Ken E. Nwadike Jr and Jon Alexander set the tone for the day, whilst workshops continued to build on how sport, PE, and play can emerge as powerful catalysts for change, creating an event at the forefront of educational transformation.

Throughout the day we supported delegates to uncover strategies that not only re-engage young minds but also bridge the gaps that threaten to hold back a generation.

Video highlights of the event will be shared soon. We will also share details of next year's Conference on this page as soon as they are available.

YST Awards 2024

The night before our Conference, our annual Awards celebrated schools, settings, trusts, and individuals who, alongside the Youth Sport Trust over the past year, had made a real and impactful change to the lives of young people.

A highlight of the event was the presence of double world and Commonwealth champion heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson as the special guest. Her participation added a special dimension to the celebration, emphasising the significance of the achievements and contributions being honoured.

More than 120 nominations poured in across seven categories, with expert judging panels carefully reviewing the shortlisted entries to select finalists in each category.

A big thank you to all who participated, and heartfelt congratulations to the winners! Your dedication, passion, and hard work are truly commendable. Click below to discover more about the winners.
