Leadership, Coaching and Volunteering Lead School Newsletter

November 2021

Introduction

Welcome to the November Newsletter.

We hope that you all had restful and enjoyable half terms. As the temperature drops and darker nights are upon us, I’m sure workloads have also ramped up. Request for specific actions from us are limited this month as your programmes start to roll out. As always, thank you for your continued dedication to this work.

You’ll find key actions, updates, and resources below.

ACTIONS

Termly Data Collection

Termly data collection for the Autumn term is on route between the 22 November – 19 December. You’ll find a copy of the TDC collections for your respective programmes on the Teams channel. You might find downloading this helpful before logging onto your link.

When you complete TDC you will find that you all get asked the Girls Coaches questions even if you haven’t selected this programme intervention. We’ve added this as we know several of you who haven’t selected Girls as your main delivery are still running a programme. We would like to capture any data connected to this to ensure we’re recording and providing details of your hard work back to Sport England.

UPDATES

Insight Community

Thank you for taking part in the second window of the Insight Community. The data and insight that’s being collected already over two months is incredibly valuable. I’m looking forward to seeing how this continues to evolve.

The next window for the insight community will be between Tuesday 07 – Wednesday 08 December. Please ensure that you are prepared to complete this. A reminder that the Community can be completed on your mobile. The site is very mobile friendly making it accessible. Funding won’t be released to those who continue to not engage within the Insight Community.

LCV School Payments

Within the programme guidance document, it was referenced that the full payment will be made for LCV in December 2021. Due to internal date changes, this payment will now be received in January 2022. Should this cause you any problems, please do let me know as soon as possible.

Girls as Coaches Mentoring Programme

As some of you will be aware, last academic year we piloted a Girls as Coaches Mentoring Programme connected to your Girls Coaches/Activators work. As a result of this work, you’ll now find the content developed and used in our new YST branding available on the Teams Channel. All LCV’s will have access to this content to enable you to continue to add value to your Girls as Coaches work. There will be no KPI’s set connected to this should you wish to incorporate into your programmes of delivery, but we will ask you to capture and share what you do through termly reporting.

#iwill week starts 22nd November 2021

#iwill week is an annual celebration of the work young people, #iwill ambassadors and champions, and #iwill partners are leading up and down the UK. As the #iwill movement, they are building a society that understands and champions the Power of Youth, where all young people are equipped and enabled to shape and lead change, in their own lives and communities.

Through #iwill week and through movement they are looking to spotlight as much great work as possible. You can get involved by sharing what you’ve been doing and learning from youth leadership activity.
