The work of the Youth Sport Trust is insight led. We use compelling research and evidence to provide evidence of need and demonstrate the power of PE, sport and physical activity to transform the health, happiness and wellbeing of young people.

Supporting Girls with Autism

The Supporting Girls with Autism project worked with 11 Youth Sport Trust Lead Inclusion Schools during the academic year 2021/22. Each Lead Inclusion School was able to work with multiple schools on this project where appropriate. The following report includes feedback on the Supporting Girls with Autism toolkit as well as two case study examples of how schools have used the resources.

The Link Between Physical Activity and Attainment in Children and Young People

Young people are not taking part in enough physical activity and alongside this, schools in England have seen significant cuts to the amount of PE on the school timetable. Young people are also affected by the attainment gap , and the current slow progress in narrowing the gap means it will persist for decades.
