Yasmin Clarke started playing tennis at the age of 7 at a local tennis club with her father and sister. Yasmin comes from a sporting background with her father, Earol, representing GB at basketball and her Mother, Julie, a Derbyshire track athlete.
Yasmin’s career progressed quickly and by the age of 9 she was travelling around the world competing in world junior events and representing Great Britain. One of Yasmin’s proudest moments came when she competed at Junior Wimbledon, it was something she had always dreamt of and remains immensely proud of.
Injury halted Yasmin’s career at the age of 19, but her passion and love for the sport has never ceased, as she has gone on to forge a career within tennis. Yasmin previously coached her brother, Jay Clarke, who is the current GB number 1 and top 20 in the GB Men’s rankings. Yasmin is now the Head Coach at the Derbyshire Tennis Centre, a forward thinking inner-city club delivering lessons to all ages and abilities.
