Thames Path Challenge

YST Thames Path Challenge
This 100km route heads from Putney Bridge past Hampton Court to Runnymede of Magna Carta fame at 50km, then on past wonderful scenery that's steeped in history all the way to Henley.

Taking place on Saturday 07 September 2019, the Thames Path Challenge pits over 2,000 keen challengers against England's greatest river, in what promises to be a hugely difficult but also massively rewarding experience for those taking part.

The Youth Sport Trust will be represented on the day by one of our Athlete Mentors, Tim Prendergast, who will be running alongside four colleagues from Santander. All of the money raised by the team of five will be matched by Santander - with the proceeds generously being donated to YST.

Tim, who is a three-time Paralympic medal winner and the 2004 Paralympic champion in the T13 800m, took part in his last competitive track race at the London Games in 2012 - and this challenge will come exactly seven years later to the day of that race. This is a great personal challenge for Tim, who is swapping his speedy sub three hour marathons for this ultra distance, for which he is currently targeting a finishing time of nine hours.
