Assessment without Levels in Physical Education (secondary)

With National Curriculum levels being removed, many schools and PE departments have been left uncertain on how to carry out the task of assessing pupil progress

This resource highlights the process that a group of PE Departments took in reviewing their current practice, exploring new approaches to assessment, trialling different systems in their PE departments, and gathering evidence to assess the impact of their changes. Examples of their work are included in this guide and should be viewed as work in progress.  

Where next?

The Youth Sport Trust are currently working with partners to develop an assessment tool for Secondary PE Departments which focuses on the multi ability model in young people.
