Reintroducing young people to the school environment through PE toolkit

YST Return to School
As you return to teaching this resource will support PE teachers to plan their delivery in response to the impact of COVID-19 on young people. The resource will support the reintroduction of pupils back into school and will help their recovery and wellbeing.

Returning to school: The crucial role of PE

Each card will focus on a particular concern that teachers may have about their pupils, will align to a specific ME (Healthy, Social or Thinking) with its related character traits and will provide activity ideas linked to an area of the PE national curriculum. The cards will relate to wider school life, provide cross-curricular links and connectivity to home life. Key reflection questions are posed to support pupil recovery and wellbeing in all contexts and ensure a joined-up approach to teaching and learning. Importantly, these resources also contribute meaningfully to the Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) and health education curricula that became statutory from September 2020.
