RFU Schools Workforce Project

The aim of this pilot, in partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU), is to work with 10 SGO areas to explore with them how to use rugby to create sustainable schools, co-ordinate varied and inclusive playing opportunities; and enhance club transition.

Description

The full aim of this project is to grow the school's workforce in order to engage more young people into rugby, building up to the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025. The project will involve working with identified areas to pilot a project where additional capacity is provided to a member of the school sport workforce to focus specifically on the sport of rugby. The project will use the appeal of rugby to create sustainable schools (training staff delivering rugby; curricular and extra), co-ordinate varied and inclusive playing opportunities; and enhance club transition.
