The FA Shooting Stars – inspired by Disney Inclusion

The FA Girls Innovation project is funded through the Football Association in 2021/22 and is a continuation of the innovation project that took place in 2020/21.

Description

Within this initial phase of the project the five Lead Inclusion Schools involved worked with their local FA Girls’ Football School Partnerships – supported by Barclays to review the inclusion elements of The FA Shooting Stars – inspired by Disney Girls’ Football club resources. Recommendations were then submitted to The FA on how the resources could be adapted to make the programme more accessible and inclusive for more Girls with SEND.

Based on these recommendations, The FA are refreshing the Marvel Avengers resource in the Summer term 2021, ready to be piloted and tested in the Autumn Term 2021. This innovation project will involve the five Lead Inclusion Schools testing and piloting the refreshed resources with girls with SEND in a variety of mainstream and special school settings in the first part of the Autumn Term 2021/22. This pilot phase will allow the Lead Inclusion Schools to gather more insight and provide further recommendations to The FA before the resources are finalised and printed.

Following this the schools will support the roll out and cascade their learning to the wider Lead Inclusion School network, to support delivery nationally.
