School Games

Inter and intra-school competition for young people aged 7-18.
How we work - Solutions - School Games

The School Games is a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in more competitive school sport.

The Games are made up of four levels:

Level 1: Intra-school competition - sporting competition for all students held within the school

Level 2: Inter-school competition - individuals and teams are selected to represent their schools against other local schools, with the winning team progressing to a School Games Festival

Level 3: School Games Festival - regional or countywide festivals and competitions are usually held twice a year to find the best performers in the area

Level 4: National multi-sport event - the 2015 School Games saw 1,600 of the most talented young people in the UK selected to compete.

Benefits of being involved in the School Games:

  • Resources - using PE and School Sport as a vehicle to raise standards through cross-curricular activities
  • Reward and Recognition - monthly awards to School Games Organisers and schools who blog about their school games activities on the School Games Website
  • NGB Formats - resources which support schools in delivering intra and inter-school competitions
  • School Games Mark - nationally recognised award for schools committed to developing and delivering PE and school sport.
