The Government Childhood Obesity Plan has set out the ambition for all children to achieve one hour of physical activity every day, with schools being responsible for delivering 30 of these active minutes.
Active 30:30 is our response to this ambition, and has been developed to help schools reduce sedentary behavior and increase physical activity in young people outside of timetabled curriculum PE. It also addresses how to help influence the remaining 30 active minutes to be achieved outside of school by engaging families, clubs and community groups.
Made up of ten sequential steps, the Active 30:30 Resource aims to support practitioners to create an active school which supports the principles of learning already established.
Included in the resource is a step by step practitioner resource, providing a robust evidence base with guidance and tips to maximise the opportunities within the resource and achieve optimal impact. You’ll also receive sample resource cards, review templates, planning documents, certificates and a variety of free downloadable resources to support the delivery of daily physical activity within school.
You can also access our ‘Active 30:30 Champions’ athlete mentor programme; where one of our team of world class athletes will help bring the resources to life and further embed 30 daily active minutes into the school.
