Many University of Greenwich students come from our local communities in south-east London and Kent, but we also welcome students from over 160 countries around the world.
We have three campuses, in Greenwich, Avery Hill and Medway. These offer modern teaching and learning facilities, including state-of-the-art libraries, computer suites and specialist laboratories.
We have a variety of sports facilities for students to enjoy. These include two new floodlit All-Weather Sports Pitches. One will be used for a range of sports, including football, rugby, American football and lacrosse. The other will be used mainly for hockey. Costing £1.7 million, the pitches are the university’s latest investment in sports and recreation facilities. This follows the building of a new gym also at Avery Hill and the refurbishment of the gym at Medway.
Medway is also home to the Faculty of Engineering & Science. We are using some of the most technologically advanced sports science equipment available, exploring sophisticated techniques such as 3D cinematography and respiratory gas analysis.
Degrees include Human Nutrition, Sports Science and Sports Science with Coaching and students can also go on to study a postgraduate degree in Strength and Conditioning MSc. Avery Hill also offers an undergraduate course in Physical Education and Sport BA Hons and a postgraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology MSc.
The University has just appointed a new Head of Sports Strategy - find out more here.
We work closely with Charlton Athletic Football Club. This partnership allows us to offer students structured internships. These include coaching or sports science.
