Youth Sport Trust continues partnership with Maths of The Day

Youth Sport Trust has continued their partnership with online resource Maths of the Day for a third consecutive year to promote the importance of active learning and cross-curricular opportunities.

Youth Sport Trust has continued their partnership with online resource Maths of the Day for a third consecutive year to promote the importance of active learning and cross-curricular opportunities for schools throughout the country.

The online resource, praised by Ofsted for its innovative approach, provides teachers and parents with lesson plans and homework activities for primary aged children, on how to deliver the maths curriculum through physical activity.

Schools will be able to access Maths of the Day with Youth Sport Trust’s Active Maths practitioner training, to ensure the necessary support is provided for delivery and the opportunities of active learning inside the curriculum can be realised by teachers.

Founder and ex-Primary teacher Jon Smedley has been working with schools up and down the country, introducing them to Maths of the Day and revolutionising the way they deliver both Maths and Physical Education. Jon said:

At Maths of the Day we are passionate about making the school day as active as possible and using physical activity to engage and enthuse children in their learning. We are delighted to be partnering with the Youth Sport Trust to try and engage and impact on as many young people as possible.

Alison Oliver, CEO of the Youth Sport Trust commented:

We are committed to driving improvements within the curriculum, and I am delighted to be continuing our work with Maths of the Day to achieve this. This invaluable online resource complements our own Active Maths training for practitioners and looks to raise attitudes and attainment in maths. We look forward to working with them to help schools access cross curricular opportunities to benefit academic success and increase physical activity and wellbeing in children.
