The welfare of children is everyone's responsibility. Everyone involved in the Youth Sport Trust from employees, volunteers, consultants, agency workers, parents/carers, and children themselves can help.

It is also important to note a safe environment is one where the possibility of abuse is openly acknowledged; employees and volunteers are vetted and trained; and those who report concerns are confident that these will be treated seriously and confidentially.

In addition to promoting the welfare and safety of children and helping to minimise the risk of child abuse, the following policy, procedures and guidelines provide additional information to all those involved in the Youth Sport Trust about acceptable behaviour and good practice to support the implementation of the Youth Sport Trust Safeguarding Policy. The guidance should be read in conjunction with the Safeguarding Policy and is relevant to all employees and volunteers working for or with the Youth Sport Trust.
