Description

The Youth Sport Trust After School Sport Club ran from November 2020 - March 2021. It was designed to help all young people feel part of a club while many schools were shut and youth sport was on hold during the coronavirus pandemic. Focusing on much more than physical fitness, the club aimed to help children develop physical literacy and the confidence to try new sports.

The free to access After School Sport Club was led by YST Athlete Mentors from a variety of backgrounds, abilities and sports. Between January and March 2021, guest athletes from different National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of Sport also helped host the sessions.

Each week there was a different focus, with Tuesdays introducing the basic theme and Thursdays involving a sport-specific session.

You can now watch the full set of almost 50 videos by clicking on the link above and get involved at any time. You may need a few basic household items to participate but the Athlete Mentor will introduce this at the beginning of each session.
