FURTHER EDUCATION SPORTS CO-ORDINATOR (FESCO)

Based at Prince Charles Avenue
Derby College is one of the largest FE Colleges in the country and is currently undertaking a full rebuild of its accommodation including a new sports campus. The College has been at the forefront of the development of the FESCO role and is seeking an experienced individual to build on this ground breaking work.
You will enhance and develop enrichment activities related to participation in sport and become an integral part of the highly successful school and community sport infrastructure, working closely with the network of Derby City School Sport Partnerships (SSPs) which was established in 2002. This is a new post created in response to the National PE School Sport and Club Links (PESSCL) Strategy and focuses on developing sporting provision and opportunities for 16-19 year olds.
You will be responsible for establishing effective links with Schools, Sports Clubs and other local providers to increase participation in competition, leadership, volunteering and recreational sport and physical activity.
The post also requires a teaching commitment of 2.5 days per week. As this might be a new career path for you, there is the opportunity to obtain the recognised lecturing qualification during your initial period of employment.
