Job Title: Sports Tutor
Salary: £18,450 - £22,293
Hours: 40 hours per week. The post entails evening and weekend working.
Responsible to: Sports Development Officer
Job Location: Greenbank Sports Academy, Greenbank Lane,Liverpool L17 1AG
Main purpose of the job:
To develop and deliver a full range of NVQ sport related learning initiatives within the Sports/Education department from Level 2 and 3 NVQ to Level 5 Foundation Degree Inclusive Sport Development.
Main responsibilities and duties:
1. To teach on a range of sports and education programmes which could
include; HSLA; NVQ Level 2 Operational Services; NVQ Level 3
Instructing Physical Activity and Exercise (Gym based award); NVQ
Level 3 Sports Development and Level 5 Foundation Degree Inclusive
Sport Development.
2. Assess students in accordance with Awarding Body Guidelines; liaising
with the appropriate awarding bodies as and when necessary ensuring
compliance with their policies/procedures.
3. Establish annual timetables; develop lesson plans, schemes of work
and tutorial resources for delivery of all sport related courses providing
learning support to beneficiaries within the vocational area in the
Academy liaising with the Academy Manager and the Education
Manager.
4. Assist in the evaluation and monitoring of education programmes
liaising with the appropriate awarding bodies providing regular written
reports as and when required. Attend team and departmental
meetings together with internal/external verification meetings as and
when required.
5. Ensure adherence to an efficient student tracking system in
compliance with Greenbank’s quality systems and funding body
guidelines. Monitoring all student attendance, retention and
achievements providing accurate management information as and
when required.
6. Maintaining records, action plans, monitoring/reviewing students’
progress, assuring compliance with funding guidelines and
Greenbank’s quality standards.
7. Ensure that students on placement adhere to employers’ (including the
Greenbank Sports Academy) procedures to meet quality standards
and customer care policies and provide a friendly and professional
service to customers.
8. To undergo training as part of an agreed appraisal system.
9. To ensure that the equal opportunities policy is adhered to and
