The HSBC Education Trust aims to raise standards in education by providing school children with inspirational experiences beyond the classroom. As part of this they helped a number of young people, from the Sports Colleges they had supported, to go on a Tall Ships voyage, which certainly impacted on the young people involved -
“The experience as a whole was pretty amazing. I made lots of new friends and did a lot of things that I didn’t think I could do.”
“It has taught me a lot about myself as a person and has given me a taste of adventure.”
“The crew were like family by the end of the voyage and I have too many amazing memories to count…..It helped me realise the importance of teamwork, and the amazing things people working together can do.”
“It showed me even when things get harder just to think of the goal at the end it’s worth it”
Through the support of the HSBC Education Trust we have also been successful in receiving funding through the Tiger Woods Foundation to support out Dreams + Teams project which creates global links between schools, teachers and young people.
