Steve Grainger, Chief Executive Youth Sport TrustHaving worked in the sporting landscape for many years, Steve Grainger was integral to creation of the Youth Sport Trust. Steve is available to discuss many areas of the provision of sport for young people ranging from the work happening on the ground in school to increase participation of all young people to changes underway in sports competition to offer our gifted and talented young people the best support possible. Steve was also key to setting up the School Sport Partnership model and the Sports College status for Schools and can talk about many of the educational benefits sport can bring. |

Dame Kelly Holmes, National School Sport ChampionDame Kelly Holmes is most famous for her double Olympic Gold win in Athens in 2004 where she scooped the gold in both the 800m and the 1500m event. In 2006 Dame Kelly was appointment as the first National School Sport Champion a role which is backed by the Government as part of the National School Sport Strategy and in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust and Norwich Union. Dame Kelly attends a variety of sporting events, schools and conferences across the country in a bid to inspire and motivate young people to get involved in PE and school sport. She has driven the GirlsActive programme, in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust and Norwich Union, The programme helps address the decline in sporting participation amongst girls. |

Darren Campbell, MBE, Sky Living For Sport AmbassadorDarren was a world class competitor in the 100m the 200m and 4x100m relay. Amongst his sting of achievement Darren has an Olympic silver medal from Sydney, a bronze medal in the 200m at Commonwealth Games in his hometown of Manchester and in the 2004 Olympics Darren was a member of the men’s 4 x 100m relay squad who took the gold medal beating the American team who were the favourites on the day. Darren is the ambassador for Sky Living For Sport a project that targets young people aged 11 to 16 who are at risk of opting out of school life, either through poor attendance or lack of confidence. Youngsters take part in diverse activities from sailing and archery through to martial arts and have the chance to meet and learn from a team of inspirational sporting mentors, led by Darren. |

Denise Lewis, OBE, Zoneparc and Early Years AmbassadorDenise Lewis’s many achievements include gold medals at both the Comonwealth Games and the European Championships, a bronze at the Olympic Games in Atlanta and gold in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Denise focuses on promoting the Youth Sport Trust’s work around Zoneparc playgrounds and Early Years. Zoneparc is a set of playground markings and resources for Primary schools which have been proven to increase children’s level of activity and their enjoyment of the playground. Our Early Years work introduces physical activity, to children aged 18 months to 3 years while supporting the development of their communication and language skills. |
