Dreams + TeamsA joint project between Youth Sport Trust and British Council, Dreams + Teams provides a unique link between British school children and their counterparts around the world.
The programme develops mutual understanding between countries and develops leadership skills and cross-cultural awareness in 14-18 year olds through sport and international educational links. Issues the programme aims to explore are fair play, equity, cultural diversity, inclusion, religion, ethics and global communication.
Dreams + Teams has been in operation since 2001 and is in now active in 46 countries across four continents.
The Youth Sport Trust has joined forces with UK Sport, the British Council, UNICEF, LOCOG and others to support the International Inspiration programme which aims to use the power of sport to transform the lives of 12 million children and young people in 20 different countries.
The Youth Sport Trust has been identified as the principle delivery agency for the work in and around PE and school sport in each of the countries. The key component of that is engaging Specialist Sports Colleges in linking up to schools and communities in the International Inspiration countries through the Dreams + Teams programme.
