Dreams + TeamsAbout this programme:

Our International work is divided into two different programmes:

Dreams + Teams

Since 2001 the Youth Sport Trust and British Council have made significant progress in managing relationships between the UK and over 45 countries around the world through the development of Dreams + Teams school partnerships. Dreams + Teams has been driven by our commitment to PE and school sport and how schools in UK and overseas can use the successful delivery of an international dimension in school development planning.

International Inspiration programme

The award of the 2012 Games to London and the creation of the International Inspiration programme, has presented our nation with a unique opportunity to transform the lives of millions of children and young people around the world through sport, and build on the success of Dreams + Teams. The Youth Sport Trust has been identified as the principle delivery agency for the work in and around PE and school sport. The key component of which will be to develop school partnerships between the UK and 20 countries through International Inspiration.

Led by UK Sport on behalf of the Government, International Inspiration is currently active in five countries: Azerbaijan, Brazil, India, Palau and Zambia - one in each of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) regions. The programme is working in partnership with the government in each of the countries to ensure the sustainability and legacy of the activity.

Target audience:
