Double Olympic gold medallist, adventurer and London 2012 sustainability ambassador James Cracknell recorded a special video message screened at the 2009 conferences in which he said:
“London 2012’s bid commitment was to reach young people and use the power of the Games to inspire change in their lives – the Young Ambassador programme is a great way to achieve just that. Come 2012, thousands of youngsters will have played a crucial role in taking the Games out into their communities by living the Olympic and Paralympic values and encouraging their peers to live healthier and more sustainable lifestyles. I’m proud to support it.”
