TOP Link
A young leader teaches children tennisDesigned to enhance links between schools, TOP Link encourages 14 to 16 year olds to organise and manage sport or dance festivals in local primary and special schools.

Part of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport Step into Sport programme, TOP Link is connected to existing school leadership work such as the Level 1 in Sports Leadership (formerly JSLA) and CSLA to: Level 2 in Community Sport Leader Awards (formerly CSLA).

As well as developing school links, TOP Link also uses PE and sport to train and encourage young people to become leaders who can use their skills to benefit the wider community.

In March 2006, 29 national one-day TOP Link conferences were held across England. A key part of the conferences was for schools to plan and then run festivals of sport and dance for their local primary and special schools.

More than 1,200 festivals have been registered this year involving over 5,000 volunteers. If you have been involved in organising or have participated in one of these festivals your certificate is waiting.
