13 to 14 October 2010
The International Centre, Telford
The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games sets off a decade of world class sport being hosted here in the UK. Lord Sebastian Coe’s vision in securing the games for London was to use this opportunity to inspire the next generation of young people to take up sport. With less than two years to go to London 2012, the School Sport Partnership Conference will explore what further steps are needed to ensure we seize the opportunities presented by 2012 and secure a brighter future for all young people.
The conference will continue to bring together Partnership Development Managers, Competition Managers, Further Education Sport Co-ordinators, CSPs, NGBs, Local Authorities and other partners from across the country.
New for 2010 will be the introduction of:
- National Workshops led by high profile facilitators designed to stimulate debate around future policy and topical themes. These sessions will challenge system leaders to think ahead and plan for the future
- National Seminars to share national messages around future developments in PE and school sport
- Innovation Zone presents opportunities to discover innovative practice and includes the 2010 Regional Award winners
- A designated area for updates and consultation with partners from sport, health, local authorities, business and the international sector
- Web Zone will guide delegates through web based innovation developed by the network as well as Youth Sport Trust websites and online resources.
Continued features include keynote addresses and high profile speakers from the world of sport. Seminars, structured networking and update opportunities also remain. The Exhibition will present a wealth of information and product innovations to suit School Sport Partnerships and local communities. The Youth Sport Trust stand returns along with the Gala Dinner, which includes the national awards ceremony plus evening entertainment.
