BBC Sports Personality of the Year

BBC Sports Personality of the Year are looking for nominations for this year's Young Sports Personality of the Year.
Do you know a sports star of tomorrow? Is your next door neighbour a future gold medal winner? Are you coaching the next Theo Walcott?
Young Sports Personality of the Year will be awarded to the outstanding young sportsperson aged 16 or under on 1 January 2009, selected from nominations made to the BBC by the public - filling in a nomination form available on the BBC Sports Personality website and by the major sporting governing bodies through the Youth Sport Trust.
People are eligible to win Young Sports Personality if, they are the right age and they are British or all three of the following criteria:
- They play a significant amount of their sport in the UK
- Their core achievements that year were achieved in the UK, and not with a non-UK national team (in which case they would more likely qualify for the Overseas award)
- They are residents in the UK
The closing date for public nominations is Monday 3 November 2008.
