The Young Ambassador programme is entering a new and exciting phase. On-line registration is now open for the roadshow of conferences which are taking place this year. The conferences start on Thursday 18 September in York, which is the first day of the London Olympiad, and continue throughout September and early October. All Partnership Development Managers have been written to and will be emailed with the information on how to select their Young Ambassadors and how to register for the series of Young Ambassador Conferences. Download letter
We are giving every partnership the opportunity to bring two Young Ambassadors to one of the conferences. If you are a Young Ambassador, please click here to register on line. If you are the accompanying adult (who will support the Young Ambassadors through the year), please click here to register on line.
It is suggested that the accompanying adults print off the forms for the Young Ambassadors in the first instance, so that they know what information is required of them before they attempt to register on line.
We do appreciate that the selection process can take time within the busy school schedule but we would ask teachers/accompanying adults to register as soon as possible to guarantee the places for their two Young Ambassadors to attend the conference of their choice.
This summer sees the Olympic and Paralympic Games take place in Beijing and the start of the London 2012 Olympiad. Four Young Ambassadors will be attending the Beijing Olympic Games working with the British Olympic Foundation this summer. The selection day for the four Young Ambassadors will take place on 7th May. The first Young Ambassador Conference takes place this autumn on the day following the Paralympic handover to London 2012 during the closing ceremony of the Beijing Games.
Plans are well underway for the Young Ambassador Programme for 2008/09, all underpinned by the inspiration of the 2012 Games. Young Ambassadors will be given updated information in line with key milestones towards London 2012 and will receive three ‘challenges’ throughout the year to support them to undertake their role.
The first stage is the selection of your Young Ambassadors. Click here for detailed guidance for the selection of your Young Ambassadors.
