The Youth Sport Trust would like to congratulate the Great Britain team, who last week at the World Track Cycling Championships, won an amazing nine gold medals.
Shanaze Reade and Victoria Pendleton, who spoke at the Youth Sport Trust’s Sports Colleges Conference back in January, combined perfectly in the women’s team sprint to overpower China in the final.
Shanaze who is a pathway athlete attended this year’s National Talent Orientation Camp. She participated in the Q&A session, spent time talking to the athletes and attended some of the training session. Former world BMX and track cycling world champion Jamie Staff also attended the Camp where he took on the athlete mentor role. Jamie delivered a variety of workshops (topics including determination, ability, planning, education and lifestyle) and participated in the Q&A session.
As the Beijing Olympics gather pace, the Youth Sport Trust would like to wish all the athletes in the GB team the best of luck.
