Sainsbury’s TOP Activity Awards

The Sainsbury’s TOP Activity Awards have been designed to recognise and celebrate the innovative work that School Sport Partnerships in England, Local Authorities / Partnerships in Scotland and Northern Ireland and their Sainsbury’s TOP Activity clubs have achieved as part of the programme. The awards will highlight the impact and difference the programme has made to the large number of young people involved.
The awards for 2008/2009 consist of six categories which celebrate and recognise the achievements of School Sport Partnerships, Local Authorities / Partners and Sainsbury’s TOP Activity clubs that have delivered the programme in an innovative way and successfully engaged those young people who do not participate in traditional sport.
Sainsbury’s and the Youth Sport Trust would like to invite all Partnerships / Local Authorities and clubs to apply for the 2008/2009 awards and gain some well earned National, Regional and Local recognition for their achievements. All entries received will be sent a Sainsbury’s TOP Activity Awards Celebration Pack to support with running local award celebration events and provide ongoing motivation for clubs. The runners up of each category will receive a Sainsbury’s TOP Activity Award as well as 5,000 Active Kids vouchers and an Active Training Day for deliverers/young leaders. The winners will receive 10,000 Active Kids vouchers, five TOP Activity bags and an Active Training Day.

The shortlisted applicants will be informed by 19 December and invited to bring some young people from their club/partnership to the awards ceremony which is to be held at Sainsbury’s Headquarters in London on 25 February 2009.
