Young people who dream of seeing their names in print can now try their hand at being a sports journalist, as part of a new pilot scheme.
The Youth Sport Trust is working closely with Sportsbeat, the sports journalism training section of News Associates, to pilot a scheme built around the core subject of English.
The link with Sportsbeat looks at the literacy skills associated with the reporting and evaluation of different sporting events. The resources that have been developed include tasks and incorporate feedback from the English staff and Directors of Specialism from schools involved in the pilot scheme.
More details of these and other resources and ideas for using the specialism of sport in the core subjects can be found on the School Sport Exchange via www.youthsporttrust.org
If you would like to share your comments or have a suggestion for future work in the core subjects area please contact matt.pauling@youthsporttrust.org
