Thursday, 5 November 2009

UK School Games 2009The UK School Games has been shortlisted for this year’s SportBusiness Event Management Awards which will take place on the evening of 10 November at the historic home of cricket, Lord's Cricket Ground.

We have been shortlisted for the Event Look category. Entries will be judged on how effectively they have defined and captured the spirit of their event within and outside its venues and integrated from stadium dressing to ticketing and posters. Importantly the spectator view of entries within the stadium and its environs will be considered.

The SportBusiness Sports Event Management Awards are the only awards to recognise excellence in the global sports event management industry.

The UK School Games is an inclusive, multi-sport event for elite, young athletes of school age. It aims to provide talented young sports people from the UK with the opportunity to compete in an event which replicates the feel of the Olympic and Paralympics Games.

It also provides opportunities for young people to experience working as a volunteer or official. Hundreds of young people play key roles each year as event volunteers and technical officials, recruited through the Step into Sport programme and training courses run by National Governing Bodies of Sport.
