20th March 2008
Children of all ages are in for a cracking treat at Weston Park this Easter, as families are invited to take part in the Stately Home’s Easter Trail, sponsored by Sainsbury’s.
The ‘eggciting’ treat for all the family will take place on Saturday 22 March and the gates open at 11am. All proceeds from the Trail will support the work of the Youth Sport Trust.
Families will have the choice of completing two Easter Trails; an indoor chick trail around the Stately Home, plus the opportunity to safely explore the stunning parkland. Every child who successfully completes the Trail will receive a chocolate egg courtesy of Sainsbury’s in Telford.
Participants will follow a series of clues clearly identified by Weston’s Easter chicks leading them around many of the Park’s attractions such as Pendrill Cave, the Woodland Adventure Playground and the Yew Hedge Maze. While the House Chick Trail will incorporate rooms including the Dining Room, Library and Tapestry Room.
Gareth Williams, Weston Park’s Curator said:
“This popular event is the ideal way to welcome the start of Weston Park’s 2008 Open Season and by working with the Youth Sport Trust and Sainsbury’s it is the perfect way to keep children active this Spring,”
Sue Barratt, Youth Sport Trust Head of Business Development, adds:
“Outdoor play is really important for the development of young people. So we’re pleased Weston Park is encouraging families to get active this Easter and that the funds raised will help even more young people be the best they can be through sport.”
Normal admission to the House, Park and Gardens will apply. For further information on the Easter Trail or any other 2008 events at Weston Park call 01952 852100 or visit their website www.weston-park.com.
