SSP Annual Review update (EPD)

Monday, 2 August 2010

As you are aware, there will be no EPD Update required this year. Instead, SSPs are being asked to complete a simple Self Review online by 5pm on Friday 1 October. All PDMs have been sent an email which outlines arrangements for this and gives an advance look at the content of the Self Review prior to the online version being released in early September.

The advance documents are available to download here:

School Sport Partnership Self Review synopsis (Autumn 2010)

UPDATE: 1 September 2010
As per the email sent to all School Sport Partnerships, the online review is now live. Please click here - School Sport Partnership Self-review – September 2010 - to see the updated self-review and guidance. Please note that this is the version that you need to complete (the advance documents were for preparation only).

The review process simply asks you to select the statement across each row which best describes the situation in your SSP. The online version will also ask you for the 'rationale' for your selection (e.g. How do you know? What evidence do you have?) and your 'actions needed' (e.g. How will you improve the situation that you have identified?).

These decisions should be made alongside your 2010 School Sport Survey data, and we will make you aware of national averages for each of these aspects in good time to allow you to complete this review.

One new aspect to be aware of this year is that on submission you will be asked to give the name and email address of the Chair of your steering group/management group. Once you have pressed the 'submit' button on the review document, an email will automatically be sent to the named Chair asking for his/her approval of the review document.

Only when the Chair has clicked the 'approve' button on the online review will the document be accepted. Therefore it will be essential that your steering group/management group has been involved in compiling this review, accepting the judgements that you make and approving your proposed next steps.

This Self Review has been produced in the hope that you will see it as a valuable improvement tool, and that you will use it on a regular basis throughout the year with your steering group/management group to check progress with your priority areas of work.
