About this programme:
Sky Sports Living for Sport is accessible to all secondary schools and designed to use the power of sport, in its widest sense, to motivate and inspire everyone to be the best they can be.
Schools involved in the programme have the opportunity to receive t-shirts for their young people and a visit from one of a team of world-class athletes. This team has been selected for their ability to engage with young people through their own stories of success and struggle, including the challenges they had to overcome such as bullying, dyslexia, exclusion and living with a disability.
Target audience:
11 to 16 year olds - Sky Sports Living for Sport can be used in any secondary school and projects typically involve a small group of young people.
Issues that this programme tackles:
Sky Sports Living for Sport can be used within school to address four key areas to support different groups of young people. Improving young people’s health and well being, developing their self esteem and self worth, increasing attainment and achievement or simply helping to inspire them to be the best they can be.
How is this programme accessed?
The programme is accessible to every school in the UK through the Sky Sports Living for Sport website. This provides staff with all the information they need to complete their project, the opportunity to plan, track and report on their project online as well as case studies from schools that have run the project.
