School Sport Awards

The School Sport Awards recognised and rewarded schools that demonstrated the most innovative and best practice in school sport. The national winners were announced at our School Sport Conference in October.

Award winners

School Games - outstanding engagement in competition, sponsored by Sport England

Sport England.jpgNottinghamshire Local Organising Committee won the award for exemplifying outstanding partnership working resulting in enhanced impact through the planning, delivery and legacy of their School Games Festival.


High quality Change4Life Sports Clubs, sponsored by the Department of Health

Sportsclub.logo.jpgHarrow Schools Improvement Partnership won the award for demonstrating how their Change4Life Sports Clubs have engaged and retained less active young people in their schools and created real behaviour change in their attitudes towards, and participation in, school sport. 


Outstanding intra-school competition, sponsored by PGL

pgl_oval_logo__cmyk_.jpgThe Regis School demonstrated how they have embedded intra-school competition within school life, maximising its contribution to sporting and educational outcomes.


Outstanding inter-school competition, sponsored by Life Fitness

life_fitness_logo_150mm_wide.jpgMacclesfield School Sport Partnership and Wilmslow High School won the award for exemplifying how the number of young people taking part in inter-school competition has been increased through innovative thinking in one or more of the following: transport, workforce and facilities.


Outstanding primary school sport, sponsored by School Trends

school_trends_largelogo.jpgChrist the King Primary School also won the award for exemplifying how primary and secondary schools have worked together to extend and improve the amount, range and quality of school sport available across primary schools and in doing so have created a step-change in participation.


Outstanding disability competition programme, sponsored by Davies Sports

Davies SportsMowbray School won the award for exemplifying accessible, appropriate and high quality competitive opportunities for young disabled people from intra-school, through inter school competition and onwards to county finals or other talent pathway opportunities.

 

There were also three regional prizes for each award category. The regional award winners were announced in September.
