We work to support all young people to achieve their sporting best in school and their personal best in life.
Sporting Best is our dedicated strand of work for secondary PE and school sport. We engage with teaching and school sport professionals, young leaders, coaches, volunteers and National Governing Bodies of Sport to deliver programmes, conferences and events that help young people to be the best they can be, in sport and in life.
Initiatives delivered by the Youth Sport Trust, such as the School Games, focus on helping more young people enjoy competitive sport and impact on their wider learning and life skills. Our Sky Sports Living for Sport programme is aimed at helping harder to reach disengaged young people discover personal skills, confidence and achieve more through sport. Meanwhile, young people who are not motivated by more traditional sports have the opportunity to try out alternative sports through our Matalan yoUR Activity programme.
We have also developed a network of 7,500 Change4Life Sports Clubs so that less active youngsters can take part in a range of Olympic and Paralympic sports - helping them adopt healthly lifestyles.
Our Young Ambassadors and Young Leaders programmes aim to empower young people to become inspire their peers and to develop their leadership abilities. We also strive to develop the next generation of volunteers in sport through growing the skills, confidence and competence of young people and members of the school workforce.
Secondary schools can join our Membership network to share best practice in continuing to deliver high quality PE and school sport and receive inspirational visits from our team of athlete mentors.
